ATL Update -March

I know its been a while since I made a post but chilllllllld I was super busy this past month.

But ima drop a little update about how saving, looking for a job and apartment searching has been going.

Lets start with the job hunt first..

No lie, I applied to sooo many jobs, from teaching jobs to tech jobs. I had a lot of schools and companies interested in my application, which was a good thing. Although, I had many offers from tech jobs, I didn't want to accept them, because I am still in school and learning how to code, but let me tellllll you that salary was soooo nice, I was almost tempted to take it.

Now when I applied to teaching jobs in ATL, I had to do some serious research when it came to what schools to apply to. I literally applied to every school district in ATL for the fun of it. Shoutout to everyone that gave me some background information about different schools and school districts. After about 3 job interviews, I accepted a teaching position for 7th grade this past weekend and I am soooo excited to move down there. Lets not forget that I will be making wayyyyyyyyyyy more money than I make in South Carolina.

Apartment Searching

This has been a tremendous headache and honestly I will pay someone to do this for me. If you can legit find me an apartment hmu.

Over the weekend, I looked at 4 apartments and when I tell you they charging 1400-1600 for a box, I put that on everything lol.

Hopefully, I find a place soon because this search is not fun at all lmao. Although I am not staying in downtown, I don't want to be too far way from it, because I will definitely be outside all summer long.

How do I feel about moving?

At times my feelings change from being excited to being nervous. I am excited to finally move away and be on my own and move to a city that has a lot of opportunities, but I am mostly nervous about leaving all my old friends and trying to meet new ones. I feel at the age of 23, it is so hard to create friendships because everyone already has set friends groups, so we shall see how this goes lol. But regardless, I have cousins and friends already there that will make the moving experience easy for me.

Saving Money?

Okay, I am not gonna lie this has been the hardest thing to do because I love eating out and shopping. I started a second savings account with the digit app in January and currently it has saved 4,000 for me. I feel like that's a start but my plan is to go down there with a full years of rent in my second savings account. I do pretty well with budgeting and planning for the future, so making sure that I don't have to touch my first savings account is important to me. Also, I paid off my car, I definitely did not want to move and have to pay so many bills, so why not pay my car off early.
